Reflection for Session 8

How well did your teachers use video in your lessons at school.  Do you think that videos could have enhanced your learning in some subjects.  As a teacher, think of a situation where you would get students to create an animation as part of the learning process?  How do you think this might affect the learning process for the students?

I think videos make lessons more attractive. Also, they have effects on regaining the students' attention. For example, when a teacher want students to watch a video about the subject, students would try not to make noise and watch the video even if they weren't listening before video. Videos are good at both taking attention of students and making a subject more clear, understanding. I can not say all of my teachers use very effective videos when they want to explain a subject or make our knowledge better about a subject. Some of them use videos well in lessons. They did very effective the lessons by using good videos to improve our knowledge. I can say that the rest's videos are not even about the subject. I have seen it many times. If I were a teacher, I would want my students to make video after I taught the subject to make their new knowledge much better. I think it will affect my student's learning process better than other ways because using video after understood subject will make them more knowledgeable.

Reflection 5 (encoding/decoding)

Reflect on your experiences as a student learning one of your subjects in high school. Give examples of the different types of digital literacy strategies (encoding/decoding) that you were required to use. How effective was your teacher’s use of visuals in enhancing the learning in your class?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I was high school, our computer teacher taught us algoritma and pascal programming language. He taught us how to think step by step to reach solutions. He gave us exercises to do and Each semester, we were supposed to do project for his lessons by making a new program.

Do you think that online tests are useful? Would you encourage students to use online tests for other purposes, such as personality tests, technology skills tests, etc. Why/why not?

I think online tests are totally useful. When I start an online test, I also start to learn thanks to the test. I think it is better than playing game, or others wasting time staffs. I will absolutely encourage my students to use online tests. It is one of the effective ways of learning.
